Pure DSD128 – Analog Mixed
Atmospheres is the debut album of the Direct Sound Records , a label dedicated to presenting acoustic music with purity, dimensionality and emotional impact.
Performed by Ferraguto Fortunato Duo — Marco Ferraguto (flute) and Salvatore Fortunato (guitar) — the album explores the lyrical worlds of Astor Piazzolla and Ennio Morricone . The program includes a medley of Morricone's most evocative themes (Cinema Paradiso, Gabriel's Oboe, The Legend of 1900) alongside Histoire du Tango and Concert d'aujourd'hui by Piazzolla.
Recorded in March 2024 at the Cappella Universitaria S. Tommaso d'Aquino in Rome, the piece was recorded in Pure DSD128 to preserve the intimacy and nuance of the performance. The natural acoustic environment offers a breathing soundstage, inviting listeners into a space of presence and lyrical narration.
Atmospheres marks the beginning of a catalog shaped by clarity, musical sensitivity and the search for the unfiltered beauty of sound.
