Meet a compact, enterprise-grade networking building block designed for small to medium-sized offices. The Cisco Catalyst C1300-8T-E-2G Ethernet Switch delivers reliable performance, essential security, and streamlined management to connect devices, support cloud applications, and scale as your business grows. Built to simplify daily network operations, this switch embodies Cisco’s legacy of robustness and reliability, helping teams stay productive and applications responsive while keeping operating costs predictable. Whether you’re expanding a campus or refreshing an edge location, this switch is engineered to integrate smoothly into your existing Cisco ecosystem and deliver dependable, scalable service.

  • Reliable performance for everyday office connectivity: This 8-port Ethernet switch is built to handle typical office workloads—desktops, printers, AV gear, IP phones, and cameras—without compromising speed or stability. The compact design fits neatly in crowded workspaces or on a rack, while intelligent buffering, collision management, and traffic isolation help reduce congestion during peak business hours. With energy-efficient operation and quiet cooling, it blends seamlessly into open-plan offices and quiet back rooms alike.
  • Enterprise-grade security at the edge: Protect your network from the first hop by enforcing secure access control and policy-based security. Features such as robust access control, flexible authentication methods, and ACL-based traffic filtering help you segment networks, restrict sensitive resources, and deter unauthorized devices. The switch supports secure management protocols and centralized policy enforcement, enabling you to enforce consistent security across branch offices and remote sites.
  • Intuitive management for IT teams: Cisco’s familiar management interfaces empower IT staff to deploy, monitor, and maintain networks with confidence. A straightforward web-based GUI gets you up and running quickly, while the CLI provides advanced configuration options for seasoned administrators. The device is designed to integrate with Cisco’s broader management ecosystem, including centralized monitoring, firmware updates, and policy deployment from a single pane of glass—whether you manage on-site, in a data center, or in the cloud.
  • Quality of Service for critical applications: Prioritize voice, video, and business-critical cloud apps with configurable QoS. By managing traffic priorities at the port or VLAN level, you can ensure smooth conferencing, reliable IP telephony, and responsive access to cloud services even during busy periods. The switch’s QoS capabilities help you deliver predictable performance for essential business services, increasing user satisfaction and reducing downtime caused by jitter or latency.
  • Flexible deployment and future-proofing: Designed for versatile placement, the C1300-8T-E-2G supports desktop, wall-mount, and rack-mount configurations. Its scalable design makes it suitable for growing offices, retail locations, and branch deployments. With easily updatable firmware and policy-driven management, you can adapt to evolving security requirements and connectivity demands while protecting your investment in a Cisco-based network.

How to install Cisco Catalyst C1300-8T-E-2G Ethernet Switch

Setting up the switch involves planning, placement, cabling, configuration, and validation. The steps below guide both new installations and network refresh projects, ensuring a clean, reliable deployment that aligns with best practices for small and mid-size business networks.

  • Plan and prepare: Confirm the site has adequate ventilation, accessible power, and a clean, organized cabling pathway. Review your network topology to determine the switch’s best location relative to users, core devices, and uplinks. Gather mounting accessories, Ethernet cables, and any required authentication credentials.
  • Choose placement: Install the switch on a stable surface, on a rack, or in a dedicated network cabinet. If rack-mounting, align it with other equipment and secure it properly. Ensure easy access to management ports and a clear path for cable management to minimize strain on connectors.
  • Power and initial connections: Connect the switch to a reliable power source and verify the power LED behavior. Attach uplink cables to the appropriate port(s) that connect to your firewall, router, or core switch. Run the standard Ethernet cables to edge devices or access points, keeping paths tidy and labeled for future maintenance.
  • Access the management interface: Open a web browser or connect via console to reach the switch’s management interface. Assign a secure management IP address, set strong administrator credentials, and enable TLS/HTTPS for management access. Disable any unused services to minimize risk exposure.
  • Configure security and network policies: Establish essential security controls such as 802.1X authentication, authenticated VLAN assignment, and ACLs to segment traffic. Create baseline VLANs for users, printers, IoT devices, and guests, and apply private VLANs or segmentation as needed to reduce broadcast domains and improve security posture.
  • Set up QoS and monitoring: Implement QoS policies to prioritize voice, video, and critical business apps. Define traffic classes, policing, and shaping rules to ensure predictable performance. Enable SNMP or a cloud-based monitoring solution to track health, usage, and fault conditions—and configure automated alerts.
  • Test and validate: Verify connectivity across edge devices and uplinks, test inter-VLAN communication if applicable, and confirm that critical applications perform as intended. Check link status indicators, verify firmware integrity, and confirm remote management access works as configured.
  • Document and back up: Record IP addressing schemes, VLAN IDs, port assignments, and security policies in your network documentation. Create a backup of the configuration after initial setup and after any major changes. Schedule periodic reviews to keep configurations aligned with evolving needs.
  • Plan for future growth: Consider your anticipated expansion, such as adding more edge devices or creating additional VLANs. The switch should be integrated into a scalable management plan so you can extend policies and monitoring as your network evolves, without rework.

Add the right amount
Flavor Name: Unflavored, Size: 8 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Previous reviewers are adding too much of Concentrace to filtered water. Add only about 20 drops in a gallon of Zero Water filtered water. This will bring the TDS (total dissolved solid) from 0, after using the Zero Water pitcher, which is basically distilled water, to about 110 TDS an ideal level. This doesn't mean that this will replace all of your daily mineral needs because water alone is not designed to do this. You will get the rest of the needed minerals from food and any supplements that you may take. You may also want to consider using a LifeStraw pitcher after filtering with the Zero Water pitcher. Because the Zero Water will remove all dissolved solid including some bacteria, PFAS, and microplastics. But LifeStraw will remove most of the microplastics, DBPs, VOCs, PFAS and pharmaceuticals. One long filter in the Life Straw pitcher will last over a year since you're already using filtered water, but the round filter would need more frequent replacement - it has 2 parts. You must use both filters in the Life Straw pitcher, even after using the Zero Water pitcher. There's a new documentary special on Netflix (May/'26) on microplastics and its dangers that everyone should see. Extremely informative.

I'd give them 20 stars if I could
Flavor Name: Unflavored, Size: 8 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I'd give it 20 stars if I could. I thought I was really healthy. I work out, eat organic, drink RO water, take vitamins/glandulars and this last month something was really wrong. I was having panic attacks so frequently and strongly I began finding reasons to not leave the house. I was wondering if I were starting to have a deeper health issue and I began taking these not really thinking they'd do very much. BOY WAS I WRONG. I legit feel like I have my life back. Anxiety gone. Panic attacks disappeared. Deeper quality of sleep (still working on length). My eye sight feels sharper. I feel happier. I'm back to the "old me" that I didn't really know was gone in the first place. Nothing else has changed in my life. It's THIS. I've told my closest friends and boyfriend about this because apparently my body is stripped of minerals and it was trying to get my attention. I can't rave about this product enough.
