Wijn en gerecht : een heerlijke fijne wijn voor bij rood vlees (wild en barbeque) oude gerijpte kazen, tapas en op het terraswijn bij zwoele avonden.

De wijn en het wijnhuis : 

Glanzend, diep granaatappel-rode kleur met een robuust boeket van rozenblaadjes, donkere kersen, piment en anijs. 

Complex en uiterst betoverend in de mond: weelderige lagen van kersen en pruimen vermengd met aardse smaken van paddenstoelen en een elegante snufje kruiden.

Temperatuur : 15°C en bij zomerse temperaturen tussen 14°C en 15°C

Creation

Creation Estate is in 2002 opgericht door Jean-Claude en Carolyn Martin en ligt op 20 minuten rijden van Hermanus in de Hemel-en-Aarde Vallei. Creation is er van overtuigd dat de mate waarin de mens goed is voor de natuur wordt beloond in de kwaliteit van de druiven. Op het estate wordt daarom veel aandacht gegeven aan biodiversiteit om zo de beste druiven te kweken, ook op lange termijn.

In 2007 zijn de kelders afgebouwd en ingericht met de beste apparatuur vanuit Duitsland, Frankrijk en Zwitserland om zo de mooiste wijnen te kunnen maken. En..... alle rode wijnen van Creation worden gerijpd in Franse eiken vaten. Dat geeft de wijn een mooie volle en interessante smaak.

Het creëren van onderscheidende wijnen

Onze moderne kelder werd op tijd voltooid voor het jaar 2007 en beschikt over de modernste apparatuur geïmporteerd uit Duitsland, Zwitserland en Frankrijk. Gaande van een pneumatisch punch-down-systeem tot roestvrijstalen tanks met ingebouwde koel- en verwarmingssystemen, wij zijn van mening dat onze vinificatiefaciliteiten de voortreffelijke druiven die op onze boerderij worden geoogst, waardig zijn. Al onze rode wijnen worden onder optimale omstandigheden gerijpt op 225 liter Franse eikenhouten barriques.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
