De AXP -tankschoen biedt superieure bescherming aan beide zijden van de tank door ook de brandstofpomp te bedekken en een tussenliggend schuim te integreren dat wrijving en verfbeurt voorkomt. Het ontwerp is opnieuw ontworpen om de montage compatibel te maken met de originele KTM -brandstofpompbescherming. De opnieuw ontworpen beveiligingsplaat wordt nu voor de schoen geplaatst om het smelten van het plastic en elk contact met de voorste spatboel te voorkomen. De gelaste naden zijn gemodificeerd en versterkt met 4 mm dikke aluminiumplaten. Ten slotte is een gat geïntegreerd aan de rechterkant waardoor de slang kan worden gevoed. Het model is ook verkrijgbaar in oranje onder itemnummer AX1738 en is alleen compatibel met het KTM 790 Adventure / 790 Adventure R / 890 Adventure / 890 Adventure R.
