De meeste processen die het leven in stand houden vinden plaats in een basisch milieu. Afbraakprocessen daarentegen vinden plaats in een zuur milieu. Denk maar aan bomen die afsterven door zure regen. In het lichaam zijn de maag en de lysosomen eigenljk de enige plaatsen waar een zuur milieu heerst om de afbraak van voedsel mogelijk te maken. In het bloed en de cellen moet voor het behoud van levensfuncties altijd een alkalische (basisch) milieu heersen.

Met deze pH-meetstrips kunt u zelf eenvoudig de zuurgraad van urine en speeksel bepalen.

Gebruik:
Scheur een teststrip van het blokje. Houdt de teststrip ca. 1-2 seconden in een urinestraal. Vergelijk de strip met de kleurenschaal en bepaal de bijbehorende pH-waarde. Leg de gemeten waarde vast in het tabel. Gebruik iedere strip slechts een keer.

Gebruikt u de strips voor het meten van de zuurgraad van speeksel neem de strips dan niet in de mond. De kleursubstanties op de strip zijn hiervoor niet geschikt.
