Directoire Period French SemainierFrench semainier from the Directoire period. This cabinet features 7 dovetailed drawers (one for each day of the week, semaine means week in French). The Semainier was crafted in solid mahogany and finished with a lustrous museum quality French polish. The cabinet is topped with an intact and original Carrara white marble slab. There are gilt bronze pulls and hardware on each drawer, and the original key. The piece is in very nice antique condition

The Semainier was crafted in solid mahogany and finished with a lustrous museum quality French polish. The cabinet is topped with an intact and original Carrara white marble slab. There are gilt bronze pulls and hardware on each drawer, and the original key. The piece is in very nice antique condition with only minor surface wear consistent with age and use.
