The Galvan Torque Fly Reel represents the culmination of a lifetime of fly fishing passion and precision engineering. Handcrafted and made in the USA, the Torque is simply the very best of modern fly reel architecture.
Born from founder Boni Galvan's desire to create a reel with a more substantial drag system than anything available on the market, the Torque drag system set a new standard when it was released in 2004 — winning the Editor's Choice in Fly Fish America that same year. It remains one of the most respected drag systems in fly fishing today.
The visually striking appearance of the Torque is the result of unique cut-outs on the frame, spool, drag knob, and reel foot. This design is not only aesthetic but structural — significantly reducing weight while maintaining strength and rigidity. Rounded rims on both spool and frame enhance durability and better withstand impact during extreme angling conditions.
Saltwater safe and built to perform flawlessly under the harshest conditions, the Torque balances beautifully with everything from the lightest trout rods to modern big-game saltwater setups. Available in Burnt Orange, Blue, Black, Green, and Clear in sizes 3wt through 12wt.
