Glofish

While fluorescent fish do occur naturally in the environment, these GloFish were selectively bred by scientists to exhibit fluorescent colors throughout their life spans. They did this by introducing a natural fluorescence gene to ordinary Zebra Danios, and this gene then passed on to their offspring. These fluorescent fish were initially used to detect pollutants in waterways, but they soon became very popular among the public and have been sold in the United States ever since.

The GloFish Brand was founded in 2001 by Alan Blake and Richard Crockett with the goal of providing the first ever fluorescent fish to the aquarium market. I actually purchased another brand to see if I could distinguish the difference between the two. This particular sheepskin is by far the better of the two purchases. FYI: When the package was opened, there was no distinct odor. That's a huge plus! I will admit that the size was slightly smaller than expected. It really doesn't matter much in the space I'm using it for though. My miniature Dachshund loves it! If you're trying to find a high quality sheepskin, and you don't need to cover a very large space, this is definitely the one to buy!
