The SiOnyx IR Illuminator Kit is everything you need to see with your SiOnyx Aurora color night vision camera, even when no light is present. This infrared flashlight is specifically developed and tuned to the SiOnyx Aurora CMOS sensor to achieve the perfect balance between color and brightness. The LED infrared beam features an invisible 940 nm output and an adjustable infrared beam from 4.5° (spot) to 40° (flood).

The IR illuminator comes standard with a 1/4" threaded mount to attach it to your SiOnyx Aurora camera. You will also receive a Weaver/Picatinny mount, two rechargeable batteries with a charger, and a carrying case.

When do I need IR and when don’t I?
Although the SiOnyx Aurora models are equipped with highly light-sensitive CMOS sensors, some form of residual light (such as moonlight or starlight) is still required. In certain situations, there may be no residual light at all—for example, inside a dark building or in a remote forest in complete darkness. In such cases, additional infrared light may be necessary. With this IR kit, you create that extra light, which is visible through night vision cameras but not to the human eye. This allows you to continue seeing in total darkness.

However, there are also situations where IR is not desirable, such as airsoft or paintball. Infrared light is invisible to the naked eye, but your opponents may see it through their night vision device. Of course, you can still use an IR illuminator for these purposes and switch it off whenever needed.

This infrared illuminator is extremely suitable when you want to see with your SiOnyx color night vision camera, even when little or no ambient light is present. It is also ideal if you want to increase the viewing distance of your night vision optic or see more detail. This IR unit is suitable for hunting observation, security, tactical applications, or general nature observation. With this IR kit, you can extend the viewing distance of your SiOnyx night vision camera and no longer depend on available ambient light. This kit is compatible with at least the Aurora SPORT, Aurora BLACK, and Aurora STANDARD (Classic).

How do I connect the IR illuminator?
You can use the infrared illuminator in several ways, for example:

• On the tripod connection at the bottom of SiOnyx Aurora color night vision cameras (mount included)
• On any Weaver/Picatinny rail, such as on the side of your night vision rifle optic or on a helmet (mount included)
• Handheld to provide additional "illumination" when needed
