Pro-Tip: To get the best results from a compression bit, ensure the transition point between the up-cut and down-cut flutes is centered within the thickness of your material. For the cleanest possible edges on 3/4" material, make sure your first pass is deep enough to allow the down-shear portion of the bit to engage the top surface immediately, preventing splintering on the entry side.
