Built for Ducks, Geese, Chickens & Quail — With a Central Storage Room

The Quick Take

  • Perfect for: Mixed flocks (chickens, ducks, geese, quail) — fits 100–130 chickens
  • Signature advantage: Two full coop zones + one central feed room for calm birds and faster chores
  • Layout: 12×13 ft coops (2) with 12 nest boxes each + 12×14 ft runs (2) + 12×6 ft center feed room
  • Total footprint: 12×60 ft under a weather-smart A-frame roof

Why You’ll Love It

  • Built for multiple breeds. Separate left/right coops keep species or age groups organized, which means less crowding and cleaner bedding.
  • Light, air, and comfort. Each coop has two bright front windows for daylight and airflow, helping control moisture and odors.
  • Outdoor time, made easy. Two 12×14 ft runs give safe space to scratch, peck, dust bathe, and explore—so birds stay active and healthy.
  • Chores in a straight line. The 12×6 ft central feed room puts bags, buckets, and tools right between both sides, so you finish rounds in fewer steps.
  • All-season durability. The A-frame roof sheds rain and snow naturally, keeping interiors drier and maintenance low.

What You Get

  • Two 12×13 ft coops, each with:
    • 12 nesting boxes (24 total)
    • Two front windows for light and ventilation
  • Central 12×6 ft feed room with rear window
  • Two 12×14 ft enclosed runs (predator-resistant design)
  • Heavy-duty A-frame structure with weather-tough siding and framing

Dimensions & Flock Fit

  • Capacity: 100–130 chickens (adjust as needed for ducks/geese)
  • Overall footprint: 12×60 ft
  • Flow: Center feed room → left/right coops → runs — keeping routines efficient and organized

Pro tip: Assign one side to waterfowl and the other to chickens (or juveniles vs. layers) to tailor feed, grit, and bedding—and keep peace in the flock.

Everyday Care (Simple Routine)

  1. Stage & refill feed/water from the center room; top off both sides in one pass.
  2. Collect eggs from both 12-box banks—quick in/out, minimal disturbance.
  3. Set airflow by cracking windows to balance humidity.
  4. Walk the runs for a fast safety and latch check at lockup.

Both options feature durable all-metal construction and weather-resistant design — available in solar or wired power setups for year-round reliability.

Outdoor Lights & Receptacles

Give your coop a warm farmhouse glow — add exterior outlets for heated waterers or de-icers, and string up soft twinkle lights around the coop or run for evening charm.

Simplistic and Inappropriate
Format: Paperback
I was hoping this book would provide insights into how to present complex information in a more comprehensible, useful format, using PowerPoint as the tool. Instead, the overall gist of this book is that presentations should be "dumbed down" as much as possible. The theme the author presents is that presentations should be story based. This is reasonable. However, the method the author recommends is that essentially *all* meaningful, complex (or, as the author prefers "boring") content be removed from the presentation. Presentations then become nothing more than catchy headlines and colorful graphics. All content should be in the presenter's notes (not typically to be provided). This is juvenile and useless and frankly reflects a complete lack of understanding of how presentations are made in a complex business environment.

On the right track
Format: Paperback
This book is a good introduction about how to use story-telling techniques in PowerPoint presentations. There are some good ideas here that you won't find in technical manuals. If you don't know film techniques these will be eye-opening. But the book could have been much stronger if it were to push these concepts to the next level. I saw a PowerPoint presentation with Andy Goodman, who teaches more or less the same thing, and his presentation nailed these concepts more cleanly than this book does. But again, this book is definitely worth checking out if you haven't studied storytelling before.

An Essential
Format: Paperback
I've created PowerPoints for executives in major corporations and national non-profits for years now, and this is one of the first books I suggest anyone who needs to create their own PowerPoint look to. Beyond Bullet points is accessable enough that the novice PowerPoint user can understand what's going on and use the lessons in his or her next presentation; it's also detailed and challenging enough that even an old salt like me can find things to learn and do. Don't be another person who stands on stage reading their PowerPoint, and don't let reading your slides distract the audience from your presentation; follow the suggestions in this book and wow your audience.
