About Low Stretch
1x7 Low Stretch has significantly lower stretch and a modulus value around 30% higher than conventional wire strand. Low stretch strand compaction gives a guaranteed breaking load around 30% higher than conventional wire strand. 1x7 low stretch smooth surface is attractive, and corrosion resistant.
The RS700 standard length of shrouds (bearing surface to bearing surface) is 4945mm for boats of pre RS700 built 'Boat Yard at BEER' (approx SN 1020)
Longer shrouds RS700 are now generally used for the larger helms >85kg (to have a more upright mast and hence power) and have a length of 5003mm (bearing surface to bearing surface)
