Cicim Kilims are often referred to as "embroidered" weavings as the design motifs are applied "in addition to" the warp and weft (supplementary weft technique) adding a textured effect to the plain background. This kilim features an overall "repeated" traditional motif enhancement in green, yellow, beige and pink on a brown, flat-weave background. Cicim rugs are generally one-sided (not reversible) and benefit from the use of a non-slip underlay to prevent moveent on smooth surfaces.
This beautiful Kilim rug is in original condition. Although the original weaver may be long gone, the fruits of his/her labour will certainly continue to bring pleasure to generations to come.
