This 13-year-old Glenlossie is part of The Single Malts of Scotland range by Elixir Distillers, a series focused on small-batch releases that highlight distillery character with minimal intervention.

Distilled at Glenlossie Distillery, this whisky offers a look at a distillery more often found in blends than on its own. When bottled independently, Glenlossie tends to show a refined, quietly complex style built on precision rather than weight.

Aged for 13 years and drawn from a small selection of casks, this Reserve Cask release leans into that profile. Bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill filtered, and without added color, it keeps its natural texture and structure intact.

The profile is fresh and lifted, with notes of green apple, pear, and citrus layered over honeyed malt and soft vanilla. There’s a gentle floral edge alongside subtle spice and a light herbal note that adds detail without taking over. The texture is smooth and lightly waxy, carrying into a clean, balanced finish with lingering orchard fruit, malt sweetness, and a touch of oak.

Glenlossie is often understated, but that’s part of the appeal—this is a whisky built on clarity and nuance rather than intensity.

Fantastic and Thought-Provoking
Mishima is a complicated figure in literary and Japanese history, but this film manages to capture the complexity of the man without seeming like it either loves or hates him. Great cinematography and the reenactments of Mishima's stories are wonderful. Music is fantastic as well.

Great movie, DVD shipped quickly and in good repair
This is an excellent movie made by one of Scorsese's assistants on Taxi Driver. Combining factual detail with highly stylized excerpts from Mishima's writing, the movie seeks to explain the enigma of this well-known Japanese author. Mishima was a prolific writer, an actor, ran his own private military academy, and in his early forties attempted to bring back the emperor and Bushido to Japanese society. Anyone familiar with the Mishima story knows things ended badly, with Mishima committing traditional Japanese sepuku. The music by Philip Glass adds great dramatic enhancement!

In my opinion this is one of the greatest films ever made
In my opinion this is one of the greatest films ever made, So beautifully shot and composed. An incredible true story that brings goosebumps even after repeated viewings, The extras include a documentary about Mishima that is excellent. Even after seeing this movie and all the extras, reading Mishima’s books and researching him online, I am still puzzled by the man and his myth. Watch this film!!! It will blow you away!
