Modem v5.1 vs. Modem v4.9 comparison
Modem v5.1 is a newer and nearly in all aspects superior version of Modem v4.9. Modem v5.1 is recommended for new designs.
Modem v4.9 will continue be supported in new SW releases. But all new SW features will be introduced to Modem v5.1 only.
* Gives up to 2 times longer range with equal other conditions. Can be limited due to certification. For example, the maximum allowed power for the TELEC T108 Japanese certification is +2dBm
** Gives up to 3.5 time longer range with equal other conditions. Can be limited by external noise or interference.
