Plant Care
Position: full sun to partial shade in fertile, well-drained soil – best planted somewhere sheltered from strong winds
Hardiness: fully hardy deciduous tree in the UK (down to around -20°C)
Hot Tips: Magnolias prefer slightly acidic to neutral soil and dislike being moved once established, so choose the planting spot carefully. Mulch annually to retain moisture and protect shallow roots. Late frosts can occasionally damage early flowers, so a sheltered position is ideal.
