It's a rare film that takes you by surprise with the honesty of it's performances, the poetry of it's narrative, and the crispness of it's cinematography. Writer and director Alante Kavaite uses transfixing imagery and exquisite casting to bring to life her distinctly layered story of young love and big dreams. The end result is a rapturous film experience. The Summer of Sangaile won the directing award in the dramatic world cinema category at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.
