This book introduces an untold history of D. D. Palmer and his years in Burlington, Iowa (1886-1888). Palmer communicated with spiritual entities through the medium of a dying patient he attempted to revive with magnetic healing. Palmer was scorned by a coroner's inquest and soon relocated to Davenport, Iowa where he discovered Chiropractic.
This book also explores magnetic healing and the Spiritualist movement of Palmer's days. A study of both is essential to understand the philosophies that shaped Palmer's thinking.
