The Porsche 356 is an iconic sports car that has captured the hearts of motoring enthusiasts since its inception in the 1950s. This elegant and beautifully-designed vehicle has become a symbol of luxury, performance, and status. Over the years, numerous famous individuals have fallen under the spell of the Porsche 356, leaving an indelible mark on its history. Let’s take a closer look at some notable personalities who have owned this classic car.

1. James Dean:
James Dean, the legendary American actor, was not only an icon on the silver screen but also a passionate car enthusiast. He is perhaps one of the most famous Porsche 356 owners. Dean purchased a Porsche 356 Speedster, often referred to as the “Little Bastard.” Unfortunately, his ownership of this vehicle was short-lived as he tragically died in a car accident while driving his beloved Porsche. This event only added to the car’s mystique and solidified Dean’s connection with the Porsche 356 in pop culture.

2. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche:
Naturally, the grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, the founder of Porsche AG, would find himself drawn to the family business. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche was a talented designer who played a significant role in shaping the aesthetics of the Porsche brand. He was responsible for the design of the iconic Porsche 911, but his appreciation for the company’s heritage led him to own a Porsche 356 as well.

3. Steve McQueen:
Renowned actor and motorsport enthusiast Steve McQueen also had an affinity for Porsches, and the 356 was no exception. McQueen was a proud owner of not just one but multiple Porsche 356 models, including a Speedster and a Pre-A coupe. Recognized for his love of all things fast and thrilling, McQueen showcased his driving skills in films like “Le Mans” and “Bullitt,” forever cementing his connection with the Porsche brand.

4. Janis Joplin:
Janis Joplin, the iconic American singer and songwriter, had a profound impact on the music industry with her powerful vocals and memorable performances. But not many people know that she was also a fan of the Porsche 356. Joplin owned a psychedelic-painted Porsche 356 Cabriolet, which became an art piece on wheels. Even after her untimely death, this unique car traveled across the globe, making appearances in museums and exhibitions, highlighting Joplin’s artistic spirit.

5. Jerry Seinfeld:
Comedian and avid car collector Jerry Seinfeld is known for his impressive garage, featuring an extensive collection of rare automobiles. Among his prized possessions is a Porsche 356, proving that even the funniest people have impeccable taste when it comes to cars. Seinfeld’s love affair with Porsches extends beyond the 356, with his collection including numerous other iconic models from the German marque.

Subpar everything
Format: Hardcover
I read almost all the new Batman comics that come out...I haven't been this disappointed in a book in a LOOOOONG time. So boring. Bad art. Bad dialogue. Superficial/basic characters. No emotion. Half-baked Elseworlds universe (if you going to make some changes - make it worth it!). I could go on. When it got to the "big twist" at the end, my eyes rolled so hard I got a headache. I wish I didn't waste my money on this.

Better than the Chronicles
Format: Paperback
I hope DC keeps on publishing these omnibus series up to the silver age and also the softcover option. I much prefer these new softcover editions over the older chronicles series for several reasons. These STGA softcovers are very big almost twice the stories compared to the chronicles and at a very affordable price. Actually a very good price. Also the paper is one hundred times better, I hated the chronicles' paper. Amazon is wonderful too, they now deliver my comics to my house in Costa Rica in less than a couple of weeks, they always arrive before the scheduled time. Excellent service. The only thing to complain is the reproduction. I consider that Marvel makes better efforts than DC to restore their GA stuff. The Cory Sedlemeier books like the Marvel Comics Golden Age omnibus look like they were drawn this morning. DC is usually quite cheaper and prefers not invest in that. So we get the same results as the old early 2000s Archives. I know today it is impossible to get original art pages of action comics 1-10 But I still think that compared to Marvel DC is very lazy and a skintflint when it comes to restoring their old books.

Got it for my college class, it was a required text.
Format: Paperback
Got this book for one my college class, no joke this was a required text. But overall it was an okay read, only reason why I gave it a 4 out 5 is because I prefer to read books for enjoyment and interest, reading a book for class takes that away.
