The original pattern dates back approximately to the 14th century Eastern Roman Empire, although it has been adapted in current times by many cultures as far away as Thailand. Hand-cut in my shop. After I have cut them to length, I add solid Sterling Silver clasps. The Oxidized chains undergo a multi-stage process to achieve their dark, antique coloring, and are especially suited to the deep relief carving that is the hallmark of my work.
Please note these have a larger diameter than the 2.5 mm Byzantine Chains offered on the main chain page.
