Exo Terra® BioDrain Terrarium Draining Substrate is a naturally occurring, non-organic material designed to provide exceptional drainage for your terrarium. Unlike other natural substrates, it will not decay or break down over time. For added convenience, the optional BioDrain Terrarium Draining Mesh can be used to keep the BioDrain Terrarium Draining Substrate separate from the decorative top-layer substrate, ensuring that the different materials do not blend and compromise the water quality. This substrate also acts as a biological filtration system, allowing for the clean water in your terrarium to be recirculated through waterfalls, the Exo Terra® Rain System, or Dripping Plants. To enhance the effectiveness of the biological filtration, consider using Bio Clean (previously known as Biotize).
