As with the first two books of this series, microfilm was obtained from the State Archives in Montgomery and a page by page examination of the newspaper was conducted and every birth, death, marriage, obituary, and news important to the history and development of Cullman County was recorded.
This volume also contains rare first person accounts of the Civil War activities of George Martin Holcombe and Elijah Wilson Harper ("Killacranky").
