Product Overview

 

The preparation of carbon nanotubes by the CVD method is widely used with the advantages of mature method and high yield. However, the preparation of carbon nanotubes by CVD often requires the introduction of a catalyst, and the nanotubes grow in radial and axial directions with the catalyst particles as the centre. The catalyst is difficult to be removed, which becomes an important factor to restrict the improvement of the purity of carbon tubes, and will limit the application of carbon tubes to a certain extent. Graphitised carbon tubes are obtained by high-temperature treatment of ordinary carbon tubes in an inert atmosphere, which can effectively remove catalysts and other impurities, effectively improve the high purity of carbon tubes, reduce defects, and effectively improve their microstructure in order to obtain good electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, mechanics and other properties. The higher the degree of graphitisation, the better the crystallinity of carbon nanotubes, and the thermal stability and electrical conductivity are usually better.

Product characteristics

High purity: Most of the metal impurities are removed under high temperature treatment of the carbon tube.

It has good flexibility and elasticity and can withstand large deformation without breaking. For example, in some micro-mechanical parts, complex movements can be achieved using their flexibility.

Electrical properties:

It has good electrical conductivity, and the electrical conductivity can be close to copper.

Exhibit unique quantum conductivity properties. For example, in nanoelectronic devices, their conductance characteristics contribute to precise current control.

Thermal properties:

The thermal conductivity is very high and can effectively conduct heat.

Good thermal stability, can still maintain the stability of structure and performance in high temperature environment. This makes it a potential application in highly efficient cooling materials, such as the cooling components of high-power electronic devices.

Chemical properties:

High chemical stability, not easy to react in most chemical environments.

The surface can be chemically modified to meet different application requirements. For example, it can be better dispersed in certain solvents or substrates through chemical modifications.

Optical properties:

It has unique optical absorption and emission characteristics in the near infrared and visible regions.

It can be used to make optical sensors and light-emitting devices.


Application Fields

 

Battery electrodes: Graphitised carbon nanotubes can be used as a conductive agent in lithium batteries to improve the conductivity and cycle life of the battery. 

Composite materials: by adding graphitised carbon nanotubes to matrices such as polymers, metals or ceramics, composite materials with high strength, high electrical conductivity and high thermal conductivity can be prepared. 

Electronic devices: Integrated circuits and display backplane driver devices based on semiconductor-type graphitised carbon nanotubes are being developed. 

Sensor devices: graphitised carbon nanotubes are characterised by high sensitivity and fast response, and can be used to prepare gas sensors, biosensors and so on. 

Electric heating devices: using graphitised carbon nanotubes' good electrical conductivity and electro-thermal conversion properties, highly efficient electric heating devices can be prepared.
