About the Author

Polly Gwinn lives in a small Texas town with not much entertainment available. However, she loves to read, especially about Jesus Christ, so her writings are laced with Scripture references. Polly has three grown kids with beautiful families of their own, the latest edition being her first great-grandson.

Its great to be able to go back and read Stokely Carmichael today in his own words. This book provides an excellent overview of what black power means and how the concept originated. Although the book seems a bit dated today, many of the ideas presented are still entirely relevant. Ive only given the book four stars due to its age. Many of the statistics presented are dated, and undoubtedly there are other texts available today that present these ideas in a much better/newer way. But if you are interested in Stokely Carmichael and what he stood for, this is the book to read.
