The Fujifilm XF 16mm f/2.8 R WR is a compact wide-angle prime lens for the Fujifilm X-mount APS-C system, delivering a 35mm equivalent focal length of 24mm. It features a constant f/2.8 aperture and an optical construction of 10 elements in 8 groups, including two aspherical elements designed to control distortion and maintain edge-to-edge sharpness.
Autofocus is driven by a stepping motor (STM) with full electronic control for fast, quiet, and precise focusing. The lens supports a minimum focusing distance of 17cm, enabling close wide-angle framing with increased perspective emphasis. It provides a maximum magnification of approximately 0.13× (0.21× equivalent).
The barrel is constructed with a metal exterior and weather-resistant sealing (WR) at multiple points, designed for dust and moisture resistance and operation in low temperatures. The lens includes an aperture ring with one-third stop detents, internal focusing, and compatibility with in-body and lens-based corrections for distortion and chromatic aberration within Fujifilm camera systems.
