"A beautifully measured novel of life and line."--The New York Times Book Review

"With a bolt of lightning on my kicks . . .The court is SIZZLING. My sweat is DRIZZLING. Stop all that quivering. Cuz tonight I'm delivering, " announces dread-locked, 12-year old Josh Bell. He and his twin brother Jordan are awesome on the court. But Josh has more than basketball in his blood, he's got mad beats, too, that tell his family's story in verse, in this fast and furious middle grade novel of family and brotherhood from Kwame Alexander.

Josh and Jordan must come to grips with growing up on and off the court to realize breaking the rules comes at a terrible price, as their story's heart-stopping climax proves a game-changer for the entire family.

Great weird horror
Format: Kindle
The Department of Truth: The End of the World is the first trade volume of this series, collecting issues 1-5. I don’t want to get into spoilers, but I enjoyed seeing a world building element I was familiar with in fantasy be applied to conspiracy theories. I also loved the art. It’s really stunning! I almost want to buy a print edition in addition to my Kindle/ComiXology edition because it’s so beautiful. I found the plot and concept compelling and can’t wait to read volume 2.

meh...
Format: Paperback
collecting the entire universe, so obviously i picked this up. i absolutely LOVE the stuff written by Ryan Parrott, but it seems like the some of the side stories were just thrown into the universe for the sake of 'diversity'. identity politics is injected into BOTH of the books in this series (that i have read so far... im somewhere in the middle of year two) that were written by Melissa Flores, for no reason except projection, propaganda and forced diversity quotas. the book isnt even an extreme offender or anything, but the 'community' has caused so many problems, in ever facet of society that they have attached themselves to, that i (and so many others) now see any of it as huge red flag... and that is sad, because i was raised to have the EXACT opposite viewpoint, and i did, for well over 30 years (just turned 40).
