It's been more than 30 years since "Mobile Police Patlabor" aired on Japanese TV, and finally, the Type 98 Special Command Vehicle and Type 99 Special Labor Carrier are getting model kits! This is the first plastic model kit of the Labor Carrier since the end of the anime's original broadcast! This kit was developed under the supervision of designer Shoji Kawamore, with the construction of the vehicles updated to appear more modern, with a higher level of detail. The wheels are connected to metal shafts, and the tires are made of rubber; the siren light and windows are made with transparent or translucent parts. The towing vehicle's steering can be swung left or right to allow turning; the floodlight on the vehicle can be displayed stored or deployed, and the driver's seat is accurately sculpted. The rear multipurpose hangar can be equipped with MODEROID model kits of Police Labors from the series; the arms for holding the Labors in place are articulated, and the crane is rotatable. The rear step can also be extended out from the hangar, and the outriggers are also extendable. The multipurpose hangar can also be packed up to 90 degrees vertically for recreating Patlabor deck-up scenes from the series. A command vehicle is also included!
