Biophytum Sensitivum is also known as the 'mini palm tree plant' for obvious reasons. It is naturally grows in wetlands and riparian areas of Asia, and hence likes lots of moisture and humidity. 

The leaves of this plant fold downwards in response to light. This plant likes bright indirect light and warm, humid conditions. These conditions coupled with its small size make it an ideal terrarium plant. 

We grow these in an aroid mix, but we've found they are not fussed about the medium they're growing in. They do extremely well in sphagnum moss, but will also thrive in hydroponic mediums (their very fine roots will even happily grow in leca). Mature Biophytum Sensitivum plants will literally shoot their seeds around their environment, so we find regularly find them growing in pots alongside other plants - even in our very coarse anthurium mix.
