Translocation of NRF2 into the Nucleus Following Exposure to Sulforaphane and Maitake Mushroom Extract
In control cells (left panel), the green staining indicates that NRF2 remains largely in the cytoplasm (arrows) without much protein located in the nucleus, which is counter-stained in blue. When cells are exposed to sulforaphane and Maitake (right panel), NRF2 moves to the nucleus (arrows) where it can bind to DNA to turn on expression of certain Phase 2 enzymes.
