Monitoring of Cognitive Load and Cognitive Performance using Wearable Sensing is directed towards paving the way for a continuous monitoring of cognitive load in daily life scenarios and to allow obtaining continuous measurements of cognitive performance in daily life.
In the first part of this thesis, the applicability of heart rate variability features is investigated in an office-work setting.
In the second part of this thesis, a wearable reaction time test is designed and implemented in order to allow a continuous operation throughout everyday life. A long-term monitoring in the real working environment of a graphic designer is conducted and it is investigated how common daily activities affect reaction times of young and elderly subjects.
