May Sarton's love for Juliette Huxley, ignited that first moment she saw her in 1936, transcended sixty years of friendship, passion, rejection, silence, and reconciliation. The letters chart their meeting, May's affair with Juliette's husband Julian (brother of Aldous Huxley) before the war, her intense involvement with Juliette after the war, and the rich, ardent friendship that endured until Juliette's death. While May's intimate relationship with Julian was not a secret, May's more powerful romance with Juliette was. May's fiery passion was a seductive yet sometimes destructive force. Her feelings for and demands on Juliette were often overwhelming to them both. In fact, Juliette refused all contact with May for nearly twenty-five years. Their reconciliation, after Julian's death, wasn't so much a rekindling as it was a testament to the profound affinity between them. Theirs was a relationship rife with complications and misunderstandings but the deep love and compassion they shared for one another prevailed. Included in this book are Sarton's original drafts of an introduction to these letters.Binding Type: Paperback

Beautiful book!
Format: Kindle
What a wonderful book! I read this with my son and we loved the beautiful illustrations that depicted so many different people groups. Though we are in a season where I know of so many who are experiencing “church-hurt,” The Celebration Place gave a glimpse of at least one church where all are welcome and where people don’t have to leave their ethnicity, style, or even age at the door. The energy just leaps off the page and creates a genuine sense of celebration!

An Invitation to God's Future
Format: Hardcover
I loved this little book.
It is wonderfully illustrated, faithful to the eschatological vision of unity in Christ, and invitational. While not all churches today are mulit-ethnic or multi-national, that's the future, when Jesus culminates his saving work.
Why not live today in light of how things will be in eternity?

Beautiful depiction of diversity AND inclusion
Format: Hardcover
This book is very inspiring and hopeful. As a person of color I love seeing the possibility of what church can look like if we welcomed and celebrated peoples’ uniquenesses. The illustrations are beautiful and there is so much joy in the words, and I’m excited for my child to grow up seeing this as the “norm”.

A beautiful vision
Format: Hardcover
I’m grateful for Dorena’s beautiful words and vision for church as a place of unity and harmony of spirit! And the illustrations in this book speak the message of movement, joy, and coming together!
