MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance. Difficult to transplant due to taproot. Large trees can produce considerable litter with twigs, leaves, and nuts. No serious disease or pests. Hickory bark beetle, pecan weevil, borers and twig girdler can be problems in some areas.
