Iron Orchid Designs Curated Signage Foil Transfer is a brand new product for IOD!! This set of transfers features some of IOD's most popular signage designs in a gilded form! You'll find: The Finicky Fox, Queen of the Nile, La Fleur and Repertoire - all inspired from 18th and 19th century historical and advertising signage.

The transfers are applied in a similar way to IOD's full colour transfers - you may find that, just as when applying gold leaf, a little of the delicate gold can transfer bits that are not on the design onto your project lending to the the authentic look of leafing. They may take a bit more patience to apply in areas of fine detail. Take your time, and don’t press any harder than you usually would, as this can hinder the release rather than help.     

The sheen of the gold can be toned down depending on the top coat used for sealing.

IOD transfers are easy to use and add instant style to your projects. They are delicate and need gentle handling but the results are stunning.

Prep is key - keep your transfer with its backing sheet until you're ready to use. Keep free of dust and debris which will interfere with adhesion. Don't allow the transfer to touch anything before application or allow the sticky side touch itself. Don't store in humid conditions or extreme temperatures.

Application - start with a clean matte surface. If painted, make sure the paint has fully cured before you start. Seal your project with a water based sealer before application. Remove the transfer from its backing and place in position - you can use pieces of low tack tape to hold it in place. Using the plastic tool provided rub the image to stick it to the surface. If any parts haven't stuck simply place the transfer back into position and rub again. You can use your hand, a lint free cloth or the transfer's backing paper to burnish the transfer after application to ensure it is firmly stuck in place.
