Eye of Nix was formed in 2012 with the intent of conjuring music that is threatening, beautiful, and harsh. Founding vocalist & guitarist Joy Von Spain, guitarist Nicholas Martinez, and noise/sound collage artist Masaaki Masao were joined in 2017 by bassist Zach Wise and drummer Luke LaPlante. Recorded by renowned producer Billy Anderson (Bell Witch, Pallbearer) at The Hallowed Halls in Portland, Oregon and mastered by Brad Boatright (Gatecreeper, Necrot), their new LP Black Somnia centers on themes of fear, control, and anxiety while shape-shifting through a lens of blackened psychedelia and doom. Commented vocalist Joy Von Spain: "The album is an exploration of the forces of fear and control, responses to these insidious, unseen powers, the specter that remains when we awaken from mysterious and frightening dreams. Billy Anderson worked with us on ideas to preserve the noisier elements of our sound and the layers of atmosphere." The visual elements for Black Somnia were created in collaboration with occult photographer and artist Carlos Melgoza (Anima Nocturna) and an international group of Butoh performers (Alan Sutherland, Vanessa Skantze, Marina Sossi) with Susan DuMett (Vox Vespertinus). Black Somnia's first print run was issued in the US as a vinyl-only edition pressing limited to 250. Through the prominence of Black Somnia's original pressing, the result is an official worldwide release through Prophecy (first time on CD & a new version of the LP). The majestic elements of the album seamlessly accent each other, creating a memorable mesmerizing audio experience that will hypnotize the listeners senses. Admirers of Pharmakon, Satyricon and early Soundgarden will find Black Somnia to be a uniquely intriguing musical masterpiece. The band has accomplished to create an album that defies all genre standards within modern day dark music. Eye of Nix "Black Somnia" will be available on CD Digipak and LP (black and ltd. Clear vinyl).

Makes an older family mattress feel brand new
There’s an older mattress in my place that everyone avoids because it feels too worn in the middle. Instead of replacing it, I decided to give this topper a shot. Once it settled on the bed, it added a thick cushioned layer that helped level out the whole surface. Lying down feels smoother, and the middle no longer dips the way it used to. The fabric feels cool when you touch it, and it keeps that same feel even after staying on it for a while. I thought a thick topper might hold warmth, but this one keeps the air moving enough that the bed stays comfortable throughout the night.

Helpful upgrade when staying between short-term housing
Laying it out was quick, and once it settled, the bed instantly felt gentler on the shoulders and hips. The padding feels thick without being bulky, and it molds just enough so that you feel supported without sinking. The airflow is surprisingly good. Even after lying still for long periods, the surface never turns warm or clammy. That was important since the mattress underneath didn’t have much ventilation.

Super comfortable

this mattress topper completely saved my bed. It is super thick and soft, but still gives enough support so you don’t feel totally stuck. The cooling cover actually works pretty well and doesn't trap heat like other memory foam I’ve tried in the past. It was also really easy to put on and the deep pockets keep it from sliding around at night. Very happy with it!
