Anne-Lise Fraisse, together with her beekeeper husband and children, today offers a wide range of wines that combine tradition and modernity, made from grapes grown with respect for the environment and in symbiosis with the scrublands and forests that characterize the region.
First included in our previous selection, La Sorbière is the signature wine of the Villeneuve estate. This Pic St-Loup red wine represents well the quality of the estate's production, and what was already true last time with the 2019 vintage is even more so now with this 2020 vintage.
Consisting of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and aged in vats then in 225 L French oak barrels for 24 months, Sorbière 2020 offers an even more accomplished balance between aromas of red fruits and softer than ever, finely roasted tannins, with a licorice and vanilla finish.
This wine goes well with meat in sauce, game and cheeses and is a future absolute classic.
