The Canon PowerShot G11 is a compact digital camera designed for advanced users seeking full manual control and high image quality in a portable body. It features a 1/1.7-inch CCD sensor with 10.0 megapixels, optimized for dynamic range and low noise at moderate ISO levels. The camera uses Canon’s DIGIC 4 image processor, providing efficient noise reduction and fast image handling.
The lens is a 5x optical zoom equivalent to 28–140mm (f/2.8–4.5), incorporating optical image stabilization for improved handheld performance. The G11 supports RAW and JPEG capture, allowing full flexibility in post-production.
Its viewing system includes both an optical viewfinder and a 2.8-inch vari-angle LCD with 461,000 dots, offering adjustable composition options. Exposure modes include full Manual, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, and Program AE, supported by evaluative, center-weighted, and spot metering.
The G11 also provides ISO 80–3200 sensitivity, 1/2000–15s shutter range, and built-in flash with hot shoe compatibility. Constructed with a durable magnesium alloy body, it offers robust ergonomics, customizable controls, and compatibility with external Speedlite flashes, making it a versatile tool for demanding field use.
