"Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of each."

Modernity rules our lives by clock and calendar, dividing the stream of time into units and coordinating every passing moment with the universal globe. Henry David Thoreau subverted both clock and calendar, using them not to regulate time's passing but to open up and explore its presence. This little volume thus embodies, in small compass, Thoreau's own ambition to "live in season"--to turn with the living sundial of the world, and, by attuning ourselves to nature, to heal our modern sense of discontinuity with our surroundings.

Ralph Waldo Emerson noted with awe that from flowers alone, Thoreau could tell the calendar date within two days; children remembered long into adulthood how Thoreau showed them white waterlilies awakening not by the face of a clock but at the first touch of the sun. As Thoreau wrote in Walden, "Time is but the stream I go a-fishing in. I drink at it; but while I drink I see the sandy bottom and detect how shallow it is."

Drawn from the full range of Thoreau's journals and published writings, and arranged according to season, The Daily Henry David Thoreau allows us to discover the endless variation and surprise to be found in the repetitions of mundane cycles. Thoreau saw in the kernel of each day an earth enchanted, one he honed into sentences tuned with an artist's eye and a musician's ear. Thoreau's world lives on in his writing so that we, too, may discover, even in a fallen world, a beauty worth defending.

Good but not great
This tooth paste tastes very good but I'm not sure it has enough grit to keep teeth clean. My kids have to brush at least 3 times a day to keep their teeth white and not yellow. I help them brush at least once a day and we have had good check ups while using Boka

Love it !
Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Set name: A. Charcoal Yuzu Mint
I ordered Boka Fluoride-Free Toothpaste because I wanted a natural alternative without fluoride. It has a pleasant, mild mint flavor that isn’t overpowering, though I have to say it has a slight taste that reminds me of a banana peel kind of unique but not unpleasant. The toothpaste has a smooth texture and cleans well without being harsh or drying. After using it for a few weeks, I’ve noticed my teeth feel fresh and my gums aren’t irritated at all. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a fluoride-free toothpaste that still gives you a clean, fresh mouth. I’m happy with this product and plan to keep using it.

Kid and mom and dental professional approves. P.S get the floss too.
My toddler loves this toothpaste. He gets so excited when he sees me load up his toothbrush for the evening. I like that it is fluoride free so I don’t have to worry about him eating it. Because he will, because he is 16 months old. I love that it still has the remineralizing component (anti-cavity, strong enamel) of the nano-hydroxyapatite. As a dental hygienist (and mom) this is important to me. Personally… the vanilla cardamom is not my favorite flavor. I wanted to try out the limited edition and I like cardamom (just not in toothpaste apparently) However, my son loves it! Boka has lots of different flavors I’m sure we will try over time. I’m sure I will find one I like better. P.S Boka floss is amazing. I recommend it to many of my patients, and I use it at home.

Torn About Whether to Keep Using
I bought the Vanilla Cardamon flavor, because I'm allergic to mint, and it makes my mouth swell. It tastes nice. The "flavor" doesn't last a long time, so you don't necessarily get that fresh breath feeling. The toothpaste works fine. There seems to be some controversy over whether Nano Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste really protects teeth as well as fluoride, but I know some people swear by it. Obviously, there is also lot of controversy regarding fluoride and whether it's healthy, so I get why this might be a better option for some. I've been using it for about a year, and I got a fairly bad cavity recently, but of course, this is just anecdotal evidence. I'm not sure whether I'll keep using it or not.

Great for sensitive teeth
Size: Pack of 3, 4 Ounce, Set name: E. Ela Mint, Coco Ginger, Lemon Lavender
If you have sensitive teeth, these are great. I had prescription toothpaste and couldn’t get it anymore and picked this up. It’s helped tremendously. No different than normal toothpaste consistency-wise but the flavors are the best.
