LP version. David Borden, born Christmas Day, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American minimalist composer and electronic music pioneer. He was one of the first people to beta test Bob Moog's modular synthesizer systems. His Earthquack Records imprint inspired Mimi Johnson to found the legendary Lovely Music, Ltd. With Robert Ashley. He formed the first all-synthesizer ensemble, Mother Mallard's Portable Masterpiece Company, in 1969. If there were ever a missing link in American minimalism, Borden is it. Music for Amplified Keyboard Instruments is his masterpiece, released in 1981 to little fanfare on the now-defunct Dutch label Red Records. As it's reputation has grown, most listeners have had to settle for compressed YouTube clips and poor vinyl-to-digital transfers, with original copies increasingly rare and expensive. Now, 34 years after it's original release, Spectrum Spools presents the first reissue of Music for Amplified Keyboard Instruments, after recovering in Borden's private archives the only known safety master. Music for Amplified Keyboard Instruments contains four pieces, each utilizing three players and six keyboard instruments. "Etsy Point, Summer 1978" begins with a mournful, ominous mood and slowly blossoms into an immense, humid labyrinth of colorful, buzzing textures and howling melodies. "The Continuing Story of Counterpoint" is a 12-part cycle for synthesizers, acoustic instruments, and voice, upon which Borden labored for over 11 years. Parts nine and six, included here, are miraculous achievements in prodigious playing technique, remarkable mosaic-like structure, and aural magnitude, operating in the relative terrain of Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians and Terry Riley's Dervishes pieces. The "Counterpoint" pieces here are rigidly arranged with breakneck key changes and intricate time signature maneuvering. The resulting audio conjures kaleidoscopic patterns of beautiful melodies and compositional anatomy unparalleled in much of American minimalism. "Enfield in Winter" displays some of Borden's more ambient leanings, with slow, morphing drones and gentle pad sounds that erupt into shimmering patterns backed by a grandiose chord progression. Music for Amplified Keyboards represents a veritable zenith in Borden's corpus; a radiant achievement in sonic elegance, experimentation, and ambitious composition technique, and a work of the highest archival significance. Music for Amplified Keyboard Instruments was remastered with love and transparency by Giuseppe Tillieci at EnissLab, Rome. These newly remastered works are superior to the original vinyl master, giving the world a chance to hear this remarkable work in the highest possible fidelity across multiple formats. Includes extensive liner notes and photos by Borden.

Great Chair and Outstanding Customer Service

I desperately needed a new office chair. I ordered this chair with the mesh seat and it spike up my sciatica. I reached out to the company and Alice took great care to address the issue. She sent me a new seat with a foam cushion and it resolved the issue immediately. The chair is incredibly comfortable with the lumbar support, adjustability and foot support. She also sent me upgraded wheels as my chair is on a thin chair mat on hard wood floors. Alice was extremely responsive with possible options and very thorough with instructions on how to replace the seat. It is a high quality chair that I anticipate will last me quite some time. I highly recommend this company and will definitely order products from them again should the need arise. Thank you, Alice!!

Great value and great customer experience

I'm sure there are a lot of high quality chairs out there and this is one of them. For me, what sets this one apart is the customer experience from unboxing and assembly to customer care. The chair came in a surprisingly small box. To my surprise, the parts were wrapped in foam and then again in a high quality foil/foam packing material. Everything was well protected, densely packed, yet easy to unpack and locate the parts.
The assembly process was straight forward as you might expect, but the attention to detail is remarkable. For example, the screws have thread lock (a dab of the blue "goo" to keep them from coming loose). Another example is the Allen wrench they give you. It isn't a cheap L-shaped wrench. It's a T-bar with a good sized handle. The parts all have slotted screw holes to give some tolerance in lining up the screws and a little bit of adjustment room. The instructions even showed how to use the box as a bench of sorts. You can tell the designers really thought about the assembly process.
The chair came with a tag offering a free "upgraded foam seat protector cover" by sending them an email. Not only did they send one, the email response was from a human (I'm 99% positive) that asked how I liked the chair. I honestly responded that I like the arms to go down lower than this chair allows and said I might modify it. We exchanged a few messages about it and they ended up sending me some washers/spacers. It now fits my frame perfectly. Not only that, they offered to send me a different set of wheels that are more suitable for my flooring, which I took them up on. I didn't even ask!
In summary, I am extremely happy with this chair and the company I bought it from. It is a fantastic value.

Great Chair! Worth the Price!

LOVE my new desk chair! I got the Sky Blue which is a really pretty blue in person. I work from home in tech, and had been getting constant headaches no matter what position I was in. I finally decided to invest in a better desk chair, and I'm SO glad I did! It's much more supportive and comfortable. I really like that I can flip the arms up or down, and the height is easy to adjust. Also, because I can flip the arms up, I can keep the chair out of the way when I'm not working by putting it right up against the desk. Very much worth the price! Assembly was simply and quick. Not even 30 minutes. Also, when I had a question about the chair, their support team was quick to respond and very helpful. Highly recommend!

Great quality chair, regardless of the price, period. So well packaged that it took almost as long to unwrap as assemble. Assembly was easy (loved the Allen wrench with sturdy handle). I am 6'2" and the fit and height adjustments work well for my height. Comfort is personal, so I like the semi-firmness of the seat. While the chair is constructed of heavy gauge plastic the base is solid metal with enamel finish: I love the look. The arm rests line up perfectly to my computer keyboard. I expect many, many years of service.
