Six Questions Your Made in the Shade Blinds & More Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We developed this home service franchise financial projection using detailed research into mobile showroom operations and high-end window treatment markets. The model includes pre-filled data for a window treatment franchise business plan, showing Year 1 revenue of $690,000 and an EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) of $272,000 to give you a realistic starting point. All assumptions, from the $1,200 monthly vehicle lease to the $68,000 sales consultant salary, are fully editable to match your local Austin or Westlake market conditions.

Profitability Timeline

This window treatment franchise unit hits profitability quickly, reaching its monthly break-even point in just 4 months. With Year 1 revenue projected at $690,000 and EBITDA at $272,000, the model shows a strong start for a well-managed territory. You will defintely need to track material costs closely, as they represent the largest chunk of your direct expenses. Speed to profit is the primary advantage of this mobile-first model.

Improve Unit Profitability

  • Control material waste
  • Optimize sales routes
  • Upsell smart automation

Capital Requirements and Allocation

You need a significant initial investment, but it is heavily weighted toward brand access and mobile infrastructure rather than real estate. The total startup capital includes a $67,500 franchise fee and $35,000 for a mobile showroom vehicle to serve the Lake Travis area. Total minimum cash reaches $1,102,000 by March 2026 to ensure you have a massive safety net during the launch. Your vehicle is your storefront, so invest in the signage early.

Major Capital Uses

  • Franchise Fee: $67,500
  • Mobile Showroom: $35,000
  • Product Samples: $12,000

Investment Returns and Payback

Investors can expect a 12.8% internal rate of return, though full payback on the total cash outlay takes over five years due to the high initial cash buffer. The model shows a 2.73 return on equity (ROE), which is solid for a service-based business with low fixed overhead. Honestly, the long payback period reflects the conservative $1.1 million cash reserve rather than poor unit margins. High margins sustain the 12.8% IRR over the long haul.

Key Investment Metrics

  • 12.8% IRR
  • 5+ year payback
  • 39% EBITDA margin

Break-Even Analysis

Break-even occurs in April 2026, just four months after launching operations in the Silicon Hills region. This rapid break-even is driven by low overhead since there is no rent for a physical store, but you still have about $6,000 in monthly fixed costs. You can use this window treatment business cash flow projection template to see how volume affects your timeline. Low fixed costs make the path to break-even much shorter.

Levers for Faster Break-Even

  • Increase average ticket
  • Boost referral volume
  • Manage labor hours
[dynamic_pic12]

Cash Runway and Liquidity

The lowest cash point hits in March 2026, requiring a disciplined approach to spending during the first 90 days of the ramp-up. With an operating expenses spreadsheet, you can track the $2,200 monthly marketing spend and ensure it generates enough leads. To protect cash flow, you might phase the hiring of the Sales Install Crew or delay the $4,200 computer spend. Cash is your oxygen during the ramp-up phase.

Protect Your Cash Flow

  • Phase crew hiring
  • Manage sample inventory
  • Negotiate lease terms
[dynamic_pic13]

Scenario Sensitivity Analysis

Performance varies wildly based on local marketing execution and your ability to sell high-margin automation systems. In the high-growth scenario, smart home automation sales can scale from $45,000 in Year 1 to over $227,000 by Year 5. This financial projection tool for interior design service franchise owners helps you see how a 10% drop in volume impacts your Year 1 margin. Upselling automation is the fastest way to the high-case scenario.

Hit the High-Case Scenario

  • Targeted digital ads
  • Designer referral program
  • High-ticket automation sales

Very classy looking! Perfect height and length for TKL keyboards!
This wrist rest is the perfect height and length for my TKL keyboards! The wood is soft and smooth. It looks VERY classy compared to some of the wrist rests I've used in the past. The non-slip pads work great too. The only thing I could find that was wrong is that the logo is upside down. It's not visible though because it's the edge that meets the keyboard so it's never seen. I find it endearing actually! Everything else is perfect, so I'd definitely recommend!

Classy look, but finish issue
This walnut wrist rest looks great on the desk—simple, solid, and much nicer than foam or gel options. It has a clean, polished style that pairs well with a keyboard, and the non-slip base keeps it from sliding around. I wasn’t sure how I would like it compared to the soft cushy pad I used before, but it’s actually been pretty comfortable. The firmness gives steady support, and I haven’t found it too uncomfortable even after longer typing sessions. The one drawback is a spot where the finish has worn or dissolved. It wasn’t there when I first got it, so I suspect the coating isn’t as durable as I’d hoped. It doesn’t affect how it feels in use, but it does stand out on an otherwise sharp-looking piece. Overall, it’s a nice upgrade if you want a wooden wrist rest, just be aware the finish might not stay flawless over time.

Classy, Comfortable, and Built to Last!
I’ve never tried a wooden wrist rest before, but after going through a few padded ones (even some expensive name-brand versions) that eventually peeled or fell apart, I figured this was worth a shot. And I’m so glad I did! This walnut wrist rest is smooth, beautifully made, and looks amazing on my desk. I have a whitewashed office setup, but this piece looks so good that I half-joked about wanting to change my desk to match it! It adds a very clean, grown-up aesthetic to the space. One thing I really appreciated is that it comes in several sizes to suit different setups. I ordered the largest available, and while it’s just a couple inches shy of covering the full length of my keyboard, it still works perfectly. It has non-slip grips on the bottom that keep it in place, and even though it’s made of solid wood, it’s surprisingly comfortable and ergonomic to type with. It’s also super low-maintenance—just wipe it clean with a damp cloth. For the $26–$29 price range, I think it’s a fantastic value and honestly better than some of the big-name options I’ve tried. This is a quality piece I expect to hold up for a long time, and I’m really happy with it!!

Check the height of your keyboard before ordering
This is a beautifully made, elegant looking wrist rest. The finish is satin perfectly smooth to the touch. As keyboards vary in height, be sure to measure he height of the front edge of yours before ordering—I didn’t (which is entirely my fault) and found that this wrist rest is just a wee bit too tall, which positioned my wrists a tad higher than I’m used to. Another factor you may want to consider are the ergonomics of solid wood versus other materials and your personal preferences (e.g., I tend to prefer cloth covered gel, because he cloth keeps my wrists from sticking and the gel is cushioning). My closing thought: this wrist rest is that it is by far the best looking of any wrist rest I’ve ever seen. Amazing item!
Color: Brown
Amazing quality feels very nice to the touch, decent size, on the bigger side if you’re looking for a smaller table organizer, but still great!
