Our Nissan specific CNC machined stem and loop is made of 4130 steel. The stem is black zinc coated for corrosion resistance. The loop is powder coated Black (Blue, Gray, and Red are available). This is not a universal tow hook. The stem was specifically designed for the Z/370Z and the length was carefully determined to fit the front bumper. Both the stem and bolt threads are pre-coated with Vibra-tite threadlocker. This keeps your tow hook from loosening due to vibration. Beautiful bag. I purchased a used like new to save some money and the bag I received was in perfect shape. It includes a chain strap as well. It's a pretty large bag and the envelope flap closure is pretty and it was snug enough that I didn't feel like I was going to lose anything out of the bag.
