Our product designers at Midwest Homes for Pets closely observed how guinea pigs engage in play, eating, sleeping, and interacting with one another and their caretakers. This observation led to several important insights. They found that guinea pigs require ample space to exercise, explore, and socialize freely – independent of their caretaker’s schedule.

Veterinary experts and guinea pig enthusiasts from around the globe recommend the following minimum square footage for the overall health and happiness of your guinea pig:

• 1 guinea pig – at least 7 sq. ft.
• 2 guinea pigs – at least 8 sq. ft.
• 3 guinea pigs – at least 10 sq. ft.
• 4 guinea pigs – at least 12 sq. ft.
