The Electroscope Metal Vane Type functions similarly to the traditional Gold Leaf type. However, instead of a delicate gold leaf, a durable and responsive aluminum vane rotates on its needle pivots within a compact frame when detecting an electrostatic charge.
The Electroscope Metal Vane Type in Metal Housing is designed to be both highly sensitive in detecting electrostatic charge and durable enough to withstand potential damage. Its precision-made, slender metal vane is expertly balanced within a compact frame and enclosed by glass panels. Any charge placed on the electrode disc at the top of the electroscope will cause the vane to pivot and move.
A 4mm socket is included for grounding the metallic housing. One side panel is removable for access or inserting radioactive sources for additional experiments.
