Este o planta vesnic verde, decorativa prin frunzele lucioase de un verde intens si prin trunchiul care poate lua diferite forme. Ficus Microcarpa este decorativ prin scoarta deschisa la culoare, asemanatoare cu a mesteacanului, prin multiplele ramificatii flexibile ce cresc contorsionate si intortocheate, prin frunzele mici dar numeroase, cu varful usor rotunjit, colorate verde intens, elegante si gratioase.

Ficus microcarpa este o planta iubitoare de lumina, dar vara trebuie ferita de soarele prea puternic din timpul pranzului. Numarul frunzelor scade cu pana la 40% in conditii de umbra comparativ cu un spatiu bine luminat. Pentru refacerea frunzisului, dupa o defoliere masiva, acesta se va aseza in cel mai luminos loc din incapere sau afara in locuri umbroase.

Temperatura optima ar trebui sa fie vara intre 18-20°C si iarna 12-13°C. Expunerea este recomandat sa fie estica, vestica sau sudica.
