Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning and funded in part by the Kentucky Foundation for Women and Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky. Each year, the Carnegie Center invites young women in grades 9Ð12 to apply to the Young Women Writers Project, a free series of intensive workshops focused on self-expression through writing.

The selected participants attend six sessions in which experienced writers in their 20Õs and 30Õs mentor on a variety of genres and oversee creative writing exercises.
