The F-104J fighter was selected as the successor to the F-86F, which supported the Japan Air Self-Defense Force during its early days. While primarily produced domestically, a total of 210 aircraft, including imported ones, were deployed, carrying out Japan's air defense missions from the 1960s until the deployment of the F-15J in 1986. While affectionately known as "Eikou" in the JASDF, it is now more commonly known as "Maruyon."
This model kit from Fine Molds is a completely new design using new molds from 2025! Like the actual aircraft, the rear of the model is detachable, allowing for display with the engine exposed. While the fuselage is separated along panel lines, the rear section is molded as a single piece, resulting in a beautiful, stress-free construction. Place your order today!
