Located on the western part of Iceland, this is certainly one of the most popular destinations in Iceland and a bit of a pilgrimage for any landscape photographer. As popular as this location is, I was lucky enough to have it all to myself. I got up early to get there just in time to get the early morning sun lighting up the eastern portion of the mountain. I also love a little drama in the sky and got just the right amount of clouds to add some character to the sky. What’s amazing is if you look closely at the base of the mountain, you can see that this magnificent mountain is literally in someone’s backyard.
