1701, Franciacorta Brut Nature NV
An elegant traditional-method sparkling made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The full palate is balanced by a marked acidity. Mineral hints softened by fresh fruits and a lingering flavour of red apple.
Paolo Conterno, Langhe Bianco Divers Chardonnay 2021
A deep straw yellow in color. The nose hints at wild flowers and offers aromas of lemon peel, pineapple and toasted almonds. The mouth feel is certainly dry yet velvety, harmonious with full richness of buttery citrus fruits.
Named Clochard, meaning 'vagrant' in French, for being produced from Verdicchio vines that lie outside the Verdicchio Castelli DOC boundary. Lime zest, spring hawthorn and apple blossom, with a fine, chalky element and touch of cardamom too. The palate is zippy and bursting with life - lime juice, a gentle bitter and creamy almond note, and briney freshness too, finishing with long, yellow-pepper accented tang.
Intense ruby red with lifted aromas of ripe red cherry, wild berries, plum, and violet, accented by hints of sweet spice and subtle earthiness. On the palate it is bright, juicy, and medium-bodied, driven by Barbera’s hallmark lively acidity. Flavours of fresh cherry, raspberry, and cranberry unfold alongside notes of licorice and gentle oak. The texture is smooth and energetic, finishing with clean, refreshing acidity and a touch of minerality. Excellent with pasta al ragù, grilled sausages, pizza with cured meats, roasted vegetables, and aged cheeses.
Avignonesi, Poggetto di Sopra, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2021
A silky and pure Tuscan red, with the natural fruit intensity and the freshness to pair nicely with a wide variety of different cuisines. The nose is fragrant and bright with cherry, cassis and an intriguing smoky quality. The tannins are present and the wine could benefit from a few years hidden away or a simple decanting for an hour or so.
Gianni Masciarellii, Iskra Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva 2020
The unique line of Marina Cvetic, Gianni’s wife. Montepulciano with a little aging. Soft and appealing fruit on the nose, cherry liqueur, strawberry and followed by leathery notes. Full-bodied with red fruits and vanilla in the mouth, big-yet-velvety tannins and a medium-long finish.
