The great pianist Art Tatum was pretty much a solo act his entire career-his rich, ornate style rarely meshing with another soloist's contributions. Which makes the 1956 recordings he did with tenor saxophonist Ben Webster at the end of his life (Tatum died a mere month after these sessions) all the more precious. On the face of it, Tatum's fulsome, baroque approach and Webster's blues-inflected, slurry lyricism would seem to be especially incompatible. The audible results definitely refute any such notion however. Like two master vaudevillians, the two swing veterans perform their musical turns expertly in tandem, with Webster's breathy, conversational lines leaving plenty of room for Tatum's filigrees and signature arpeggios. And there is absolutely no hint that the pianist was nearing his end. His piano tone is lush, his attack on point, and his inexhaustible harmonic invention raises this far above a typical jazz all-star session. The Essential Jazz Classics reissue adds five Tatum solo pieces to the original seven songs recorded with Webster.

Right on the Money!!
Format: Hardcover
I'm not even half way through this book, but it is remarkably accurate!! Dr. Jeremiah goes through our past 50-60 years, explaining HOW we've gotten to where we are today. We have allowed God and faith to be shunned by society, embracing a more "evolved" way of thinking. It's astounding to read, and reflect upon. We often hear the phrase "end days" and for a long time, I've kind of just nodded in agreement, but this book puts it all in order, and clearly reveals what has taken place, and puts you in the mindset of looking towards the SURE return of Christ in the not so distant future. We are at the stage of Sodom and Gomorrah, and this book will show you why.
I would highly recommend this read for those who are interested in how we got here and where we're at now.

Very relavant for today's times
Format: Hardcover
I sometimes felt isolated when it came to reading the bible and then looking up at the news and seeing the parallels and then I found this book. Then I discovered Turning Points and the best minster I ever listened to. Unfortunately he is in San Diego but thanks to modern technology I can listen to him anywhere and anytime. I'm a history buff, but the stories he pulls from the past are none I had heard. His knowledge base of the bible is unmatched in my opinion. He brings past events, the modern nightmare of the world and the bible all together. You can't put it down. After your done you don't feel scared because you know where your salvation lies. It just feels better when you know someone older and wiser than you sees what you see. Now the book will make the round of a small circle of my Christian friends.

Timely message of hope.

This is a timely book for Christians and non-Christians alike due to the anxieties related to the chaos of this present world. Anyone who is asking, " Is this the end?" Can find a lot of information that could
serve to challenge preconceived ideas regarding scripture and it's viability to what we are currently experiencing in this world. It's a book of hope for those who feel hopeless. It offers clarity to those feeling confused. It places all we currently see within a very detailed historical context that allows us to see the big picture as well as connecting history to prophecies regarding the future. Definitely a good read.
