While these readings are very brief, they will be found comprehensive and helpful to those who have a relish for the Word of God.

It has been truly said that the Bible is its own commentary. In bringing together the various texts of Scripture pertaining to any subject, we find that one text throws divine light upon others until the whole becomes illuminated and the truth apparent.

We believe that these Bible readings will prove a blessing to those who desire a better understanding of the Holy Scriptures, but are unable to arrange subjects for themselves. By the aid of the supplied index, it will be found helpful to young workers as a Bible subject-book.

In preparing this work we have borrowed freely from a little book published by S. Bagster & Sons, entitled “Daily Light on the Daily Path.” We have re4]]arranged some of this matter and have supplied subject-headings, which will be found an improvement, especially in helping the reader to find any desired reading.

Believing that those who “search the Scriptures” will be amply rewarded, and that this little volume will be appreciated by all who love the Bible, we commit it to the blessing of Him who is the author of all its precepts and who is able and willing to fulfil all its promises to those who believe.
