The Du-Rites have only been in existence for a few years, but the musical life of the NYC funk duo has been anything but quiet. Comprised of multi-instrumentalists Jay Mumford (aka J-Zone) on drums and keys and Pablo Martin on guitar, bass and synthesizer, the pair has already cranked out two albums, a handful of 7" singles and worked with a wide range of musical greats - ranging from Eddie Palmieri; to Ghostface Killah; to Robert Glasper; to Bobbito Garcia - proving they can groove with anyone. Through it all, Jay and Pablo have honed their composing and playing chops to go into uncharted territory for their third LP, Gamma Ray Jones. Inspired by the musical scores of the iconic cop shows of the 1960s and '70s, Gamma Ray Jones is the musical backdrop for a lost 1972 TV series that never made it past the cutting room floor at NBC. With the rival crime-fighting shows of the day brawling for airtime (Mannix, McCloud, Banacek, Cannon, Barnaby Jones, The Mod Squad, The Rockford Files, etc.), Gamma Ray Jones proved too real, too violent and too expensive to produce, prompting the network to cease production on the series after the pilot episode, Get This Turkey Outta Here!, was filmed. The fact that the star of the show was none other than NYC's own street justice warrior, Pedro "Gamma Ray" Jones, Hollywood execs didn't want the smoke. The pilot sat in a film reel vault for 46 years with one glaring omission - the music. Enter: The Du-Rites. Scoring the lost pilot with the utmost attention to detail, Jay and Pablo go from synth-driven big city overtures ("Gamma Ray Jones Theme"); to cold-blooded funk ("The Mean Machine"); to jazz and Latin-tinged soul ("Big Shirley's Place," "Amsterdam Ave."); to cinematic, orchestral movements ("Go Down Swinging"). There's even a chase scene ("Showdown!"), proving The Du-Rites not only studied the songbook for cop show funk (written by legendary composers Lalo Schifrin, Quincy Jones, Dave Grusin, Mike Post, etc.) - they spent many a night watching the shows in syndication. Where 2016's debut album brought funky grooves and vamps by the pound and 2017's Greasy Listening brought a raggedy live nightclub band into your living room, Gamma Ray Jones is The Du-Rites musical backdrop for 20" long cars, Mateus wine, sport jackets, 10 minute fist-fight scenes and all that was gritty about New York City in the 1970s.

Ok, but don’t use hand cream

I like the case for its ability to house the keyboard, the pencil and the iPad in one convenient place. I find that the magnetic closure and magnets holding the keyboard are not as strong as a previous case I had purchased. The keyboard is great, I like the touchpad and the backlight colors. The cover material is not hand lotion friendly! I’ve tried water and lens cleaning wipes, and neither gets this cover clean. I hesitate to use any chemicals because the material is the type that will get sticky and nasty, and I don’t like that. I’ve included a photo of what the cover looks like after using a lens cleaning wipe. If the magnets were stronger and the cover material easier to clean, I would buy again.

great case!

pros; the color is beautiful. I picked the navy blue. It is exactly as the description described. It goes very well with my blue iPad. The size is very precise and fits perfectly on my iPad. The magnet that holds the case together is very strong. The iPad itself can pivot vertically and horizontally using that magnet. This works very smooth. The magnet closure for the case itself is strong and holds well. The magnet that holds the keyboard in place also works very well. Cons; when the keyboard is in its correct position, it is difficult to angle the iPad in front into the provided grooves. The keyboard gets into the way. This prevents the iPad from reaching the grooves provided. The keyboard feels very light and cheap.
The keyboard itself connected with the Bluetooth very easily. It works wonderful. I love the back light on the keyboard. The color of the keyboard is wonderful. However, as I said above, it does feel a bit cheap. But for 20 bucks, what can you ask for.
When the case is folded together with the keyboard in the iPad, it is a bit bulky. But I knew that from the previous reviews and was expecting it.
What I love most about this case is that the iPad can be removed using the magnet on the back from the keyboard portion, but it is still protected by the exterior plastic case. So in situations where I don’t need to use my keyboard, I can remove the iPad itself and know that it’s still protected overall I recommend this product.

Nice Case & Keyboard

Love this case with a keyboard. I like using the keyboard vs using one on the screen of iPad. And the keyboard has rechargeable batteries instead of having to buy batteries. And it protects my iPad.

Beautiful, and everything I want it except that the keyboard keys didn’t work😭

I searched and search for the right keyboard case for me. The most important thing for me was to be able to remove the iPad case itself from the whole case and keyboard, and this one was it. Unfortunately, when I started checking the keyboard a lot of The keys were not output in the correct symbol or letters. So defeats the whole purpose of having a keyboard. I returned it and asked for a replacement, thinking that the item was defected, but when I got the New replacement, it was the same thing so I tried to contact the seller, but there was no option to do that. Therefore, I had to return the second replacement keyboard and look for another keyboard cover.

Quality and Functional

I was looking for a case that could rotate and includes a keyboard. I have the gen 5 Ipad Air and it fits just fine. The part that rotates is magnetic (pretty strong) so if i just want the part with the ipad, I can just take it off. Keyboard is magnetic and the touchpad is such a bonus. It was easy to connect and every key works (can also change light color). Im also really impressed with the quality of the case, its pretty thick and even the plastic is nice. The navy blue color is also super cute, wish they had a dark red color too.
